My final project from junior year! It was a wild ride of crashing through new workflows in a four week period, while bouncing critique off loads of other artists -- I've definitely never learned more from a single project! I started this project before playing WoW but got sucked into the lore while reading up on Pandaria.
Textures were done through various methods -- the wood texture is completely handpainted, while the tree and stone textures were sculpted in zBrush and then touched up in Photoshop. The cobblestone texture was baked out of a quick zBrush sculpt then thoroughly painted over in Photoshop, while the grass was painted in Photoshop, taken into Substance Designer, then painted over again. I learned 3D Coat while painting the grain sacks. Textures for the cart were done almost entirely with tiling textures and trim sheets - warping around those UVs felt like black magic!
All modeling was done in Max. Lighting, rendering, vertex painting and particle systems done in Unity.
